Week 25 of 2026
Finishing some recruitment processes. Trying to sync all the offers is still challenging, had to decline a few offers while I’m going through team matching in another process.
Shitposting on LinkedIn as a backpressure mechanism to slow down job offers. Now the post that says I’m looking for a job is buried in the scroll down.
Not much progress learning Japanese in the last 6 weeks. Job hunting has been time consuming.
Got a bunch of vinyl records in the last few weeks:
- A Forest of Stars - Stack Overflow in Corpse Pile Interface. One of my favorite Avant-Garde Metal releases this year
- Bekor Qilish - Consecrated Abysses of Dread. As above
- Coroner - Mental Vortex. Absolute Technical Thrash Metal classic
- Cryptic Shift - Overspace & Supertime. A future classic, mark my words
- Fleshvessel - Obstinacy: Sisyphean Dreams Unfolded. A favorite from 2025 that I discovered this year
- Sarcófago - I.N.R.I.. A classic from Brazil. One of the most influential early Black Metal releases
- Talking Heads - Remain in Light. A must for any record collection
- Vektor - Terminal Redux. Another Technical Thrash Metal classic
- Vulcano - Bloody Vengeance. Another Brazilian classic

Albums/EPs:
- Favorite of the week: Bekor Qilish - Consecrated Abysses of Dread (Also on Bandcamp). One of my favorite releases this year. I can’t believe this is a solo project
- Haute & Freddy - Big Disgrace. The best Synthpop release of 2026. Will probably grab a physical copy
- Rhododendron - Ascent Effort (Also on Bandcamp). Great Spotify recommendation
- Toru - Velours Dévorant (Also on Bandcamp). Another great Spotify recommendation. Chaos in control
Recently released singles:
- Favorite of the week:Polyphia - CAN YOU FEEL IT. Nice mix of Gen-Z Math Rock and EDM. The alternate music video is probably better
- i-dle - Crow. Pretty different to most K-Pop releases nowadays
- POPPY - Dying To Forget. Great screaming
- RIIZE - Do your dance. The instrumental slaps
- unpeople - friends. I need to know more about this band!
- XLOV - SERVE. They actually serve
- Yves - Break it (feat.Lexie Liu). Breaking my own rule of never mentioning new singles from a release I already talked about
Other:
- A City Pop version of dodree - LILAC
- At Vance’s metal cover of ABBA - The Winner Takes It All. On paper sounds like a gimmick but it’s pretty good
Playing
- No Man’s Sky. I like cataloguing flora and fauna, learning new alien words and shooting pirate ships
