My Favorite Music of 2025

These are some of my favorite albums and singles of last year.

The selection criteria is similar to last year:

Released in 2025
Saved as a favorite
Listened to at least a few times

This year I made a conscious effort to listen to new music so the list is longer. I continued listening mostly to K-Pop and Metal but I also tried to discover more music by contemporary Chilean artists.

Albums and EPs

It’s always hard for me to rank music but this year I came up with a top 10 and 15 honorable mentions:

10: Guerrilla Toss - You’re Weird Now

It reminded me of Devo.

9: Black Country, New Road - Forever Howlong

I guess this is what people calls Baroque Pop?

8: ByoNoiseGenerator - Subnormal Dives

I didn’t know it was possible to have a Sax in a Grindcore band.

7: Blood Abscission - I I

My favorite Black Metal album of 2025.

6: Asunojokei - Think of You

Great Blackgaze/Screamo from Japan.

5: BIBI - EVE: ROMANCE

My favorite Korean R&B release of 2025.

3 and 4: NMIXX - Blue Valentine / Fe3O4: Forward

NMIXX released this year the best K-Pop Album and EP. It was hard to just pick one.

2: Candelabro - Deseo, Carne y Voluntad

My favorite Chilean album this year.
